Tiny Stitches Newsletter- September 2006     

Since Labor Day is the 1^st Monday of September, Tiny Stitches business meeting is the 2^nd Monday, September 11 at 10am at Atlanta Sewing Center.

 This group continues to amaze me! I am convinced if there is something that needs to be done- Someone with the skill or talent will step up and do it. Shari Hoffman and her husband (what would we do without “the husbands”) came to workshop with a bunch of ideas and a long list of yarn companies with all the info needed to contact them.

All of those little bags of snap pieces are counted by Georgia Lucas’ husband. The husbands of Ida Boyce and Ruth Skaggs help with the deliveries. Of course, Leon Cusson is the “pied piper” of Tiny Stitches drawing attention with his crocheting and knitting , then spreading the word. Frank(aka Extra Attic) White is always looking for ways to help. If you get a chance- give these guys a hug or at least say “thanks”.

 

Next time you go to the warehouse-take a good look at the first warehouse unit. While the rest of the “warehouse gang” was pre-packing, Ida and Cathy labeled the bins and the shelves so we can tell at a glance what is there and what we need. The bins are labeled so please put them back on their assigned shelves. Thanks to everyone who helped-especially the “newcomers”. This activity is open to everyone and it is fun!

 

We have a continuing need for more gowns and sleepers. Please make some- even a few will be appreciated. We still have bunches of the solid colors of Garan fabric. Consider combining some of the prints with the solids-such as print sleeves on solid color body. Be sure if you are making fabric caps that the material has a lot of stretch (like the Garan knits) and is cut with the stretch going around the cap.

            Gwinnett  Medical Center Workshop (3^rd Saturday) September 16^th, 9:30am to 3:30pm-Gwinnett Medical Center Education Center, Lawrenceville, GA.

            Marietta Group (3^rd Tuesday) September 19^th, 6:30pm to 9pm- Mt Zion United Merthodist Church, 1770 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, GA.

            Snellville Group (3^rd Thursday) September 21, 11am to3pm-Eastside Heritage Center, 2160 Fountain Drive, Snellville, GA.

            Bunten  Road Workshop (last Tuesday) September 26, 10am to 3pm-Bunten Road Park Activities Building, Duluth, GA.
