Heads Up! Remember the business meeting this month is on the 2nd Monday- July 11 at Atlanta Sewing Center, Duluth.   

  It would be a tremendous help if the volunteers who turn in items from each group would be sure each item is completely finished and ready to put in the layette. Example: burp cloths that are just turned without the opening sewnshut and no stabilizing stitching. Also a lot of items are being turned in without snaps- sleepers,bibs and tote bags. Every group has a snap press and hand setters are available if needed. This month over 200 items had no snaps and were not available to use until Jill and others put snaps on them. (They would love to use some of that time to sew.)

For the burials we have an over supply of the small white afghans with a cross in the middle. (Only 2 or 3 of these can be used each month because all of the babies are not Christian). Can we have more of the small lacy ones? We will also need more of the memory envelopes for August and September.

We have been contacted by a group in Knoxville that is just getting started and have affiliated with the "Threads of Love" group which nationally provides preemie and burial items to hospitals. They are requesting our burial patterns.
