February 2005
Yes, I apologize for no newsletter earlier this month. This month is not only the shortest -its the fastest! This can hardly be called a news letter- more a heads up alert! After the business meeting, over fifty bags were packed to deliver this month. We ran out of a number of items. To be ready for March deliveries, we need to concentrate on making gowns, sleepers, lapfront shirts and quilts. The workshop at Gwinnett Medical Center Education building on Feb.19 (9:30am-3:30pm) will be dedicated to making quilts. Bring your sewing machines (with a walking foot if you have one), pins, and white thread. We will also be cutting other kinds of kits. Remember the smocking class as part of the Bunten Road workshop on Tuesday, Feb.22, from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Those who signed up for the class need to bring a small pair of scissors and DMC floss in baby colors. Everyone is welcome to come to watch or do other hand or machine work. Bunten Road group members who need supplies from the warehouse, please contacxt Donna Voss before Feb. 18th. The Snellville group meetsmeets this Thursday (Feb17th) 10am to 2pm at Eastside Heritage Center, 2160 Fountain Drive i Snellville. Tiny Stitches extends sympathy to the family of Snellville volunteer, Jean Washburn who died in January from melanoma. Although Jean volunteered for only a few months, she was dedicated and eager to learn. Marietta group will be meeting as usual on the 3rd Saturday (Feb.19) 10am to 12 noon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1578 Cunningham Rd. SW in Marietta. More later about the Sewing EXPO in March. We will have a double booth again this year. |
