Tiny Stitches Newsletter- March 2004
The March weather may have "come in like a
lamb" but things happening for Tiny stitches came in "like a lion". On
Saturday , Feb. 28, we had the birthday luncheon at Bunten Park in Duluth,
What a great turnout!! There was a good representation from all the groups
as well as some representatives from the hospitals totaling about 80 people.
The food was delicious and plentiful and the facility was beautiful.
Everyone helped with set-up, clean-up or just being there swelling the size
of the crowd. (The real miracle was that no one got upset with anyone else)
On Monday the donated sergers from Garan arrived- you will hear more about those later. Also on Monday a box of fabric came from Cottontail Creations in Oklahoma. This company is owned by Ruth Skaggs' nieces. Debi Fischer brought two boxes of denim to the business meeting that were donated by her husband.
During February, donations came in from
Alpharetta Methodist Church, Alpharetta Methodist Church and five memorial
gifts in honor of Brenda Garithers who died Feb. 18 after a long battle with
cancer. Brenda was a devoted volunteer for just a few months and she will be
missed.
THE TRIP TO OCHO PLANNED FOR MONDAY, MARCH 8, is
OFF!! The $1 per pound fabric does not go on sale until WEDNESDAY. A number
of us will be busy with the setup of the booth at EXPO then. Be sure to
visit the booth while you are at EXPO on March 11, 12, 13.
