Tiny Stitches Newsletter- June 2004

The weather is heating up and so are vacation plans for many of our volunteers. Those of us who are in town need to make an extra effort to attend meetings and workshops. We are in pretty good shape for this month but remember last month we added a new county – Habersham.

Many, many thanks to Rayann Walker who has been a driving force for the Bunten Road Park group ever since it began.  For Rayann and her husband (that patient man!), someday is now!  They plan to spend more time with family and  traveling.  Rayann will continue to sew with the group in a more limited role.  Rayann has spoiled everyone by having everything ready for each meeting.  Please lend a hand when you can.

On June 12-13, Tiny Stitches will have a table at a quilt show in the Marietta area, sponsored by the Chattahoochee Evening Stars Quilt Guild. This group gives some of their quilts to Tiny Stitches on a regular basis.  Debbie needs a few people to help her at the show.  For more details call Debbie or contact her by e-mail at home or on the Tiny Stitches site.

At this time we are  having to purchase terry cloth at $5.99 per yard.  Until we get more free or cheaper terry, please stop using terry for lap pads and burp cloths.  Please use woven cottons on both sides with light weight batting between. For now please use the terry only for bib-backs and washcloths.

If you have ready any receiving blankets,  boy gowns or sleepers, please bring them to the business meeting.

            Alpharetta  Group- the 2^nd Saturday, June 12, 9:30 am-3:30 pm, Alpharetta First Methodist Church, 69  Main Street.

            Marietta Group- the 3^rd Saturday, June 19, 10 am-12 noon- Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints, 1578 Cunningham Rd. SW.

            Gwinnett Medical Workshop- the 3^rd Saturday, June 19, 9:30 am-3:30 pm, Education Center Building

            Snellville Group-the 3^rd Thursday, June 17, 10 am-2 pm, Eastside Heritage Center, 2160 Fountain Drive
