Tiny Stitches- January Newsletter- 2004
Happy New Year, Everyone! As we set up our 2004
calendars remember to fill in the dates for group meetings as well as the
workshops. It is fun to visit the other groups, meet other volunteers and
see what is going on. The following is a list of the regular meeting times
for each group with the January dates in ( )
Business meeting- Atlanta Sewing Center, Duluth, 10 am-12 noon, the 1st Monday (Jan. 5)of each month. Alpharetta group meets the 2nd Saturday (Jan.10) 9:30am-2:30pm at the Alpharetta First Methodist Church-69 Main Street. Tiny Stitches 5 Year Birthday Party will be
on Saturday, February 28, 11 am-2 pm at the Bunten Road Park building in
Duluth. Put it on your calendar- more info later. There will be invitations
with directions later.
Tiny Stitches will again this year have a booth at the Sewing Expo, March 11,12,13 at the Gwinnett Civic Center. It is a good chance to see all the new and fun stuff about machines and fabric.
To better keep track of what is coming and
going in and out of the warehouse, there is now a notebook to record your
visit. Please sign in:Date, Who,What-leaving or taking. This will also make
it possible to give credit where credit is due. Sometimes we have to guess
which group made some particularly nice garments.
Fundraising is still going strong. Duluth United Methodist Church sent a $1000 check in December. Debbie Vickers and Cathy Temple visited the North Gwinnett/ Buford Kiwanis Club on Tuesday. Gloria Bantekas and Cathy Temple visited the Buford Rotary Club on Wednesday. The Rotary gave us $212 for 4 layettes. Remember to request supplies for the upcoming meetings no later than Wednesday, Jan.14. Contact either Gloria (gloriabantekas@aol.com) or 678-482-8360 or Cathy (geeftemple@charter.net) or 770-945-6818.
Watch for new faces- several people have
called or come to meetings, so please make them welcome. Martha Vinot
suggests this cold weather makes it easy to stay insid with a cup of tea and
sew- before the grass begins to grow and the outside calls to us.
