Tiny Stitches December 2004 Newsletter

This month's newsletter begins with a message from President Debbie Vickers. "Next week Tiny Stitches will have two more donated sewing machines available for loan.  We also have access to a BabyLock Eclipse serger for sale. It has had service recently and runs very well.  This model has the jet-threading system for the loopers and a needle threader, as well as adjustable tensions. The asking price for this serger is $450.00 dollars. Contact Debbie Vickers for more information on any of these three machines. Her e-mail address is jimdebv@bellsouth.net and phone number is 770-831-0577.

Christmas Coffee
We are looking forward to seeing you all at this year's Christmas Coffee at the Bunten Road Park Activities Center on December 11, 2004 from 11:00am to 2:00pm. The Center is located on Bunten Road between Old Peachtree Road and Ga.Hwy 120 in Duluth. It is on the west side of I-85. (If you are "directionally challenged" like me, that means turn off I-85 toward Duluth). Remember if you are bringing your favorite Christmas treat to share, send us your recipe (unless it is a family secret) so we can put it in a booklet to share with everyone there." Bringing a dish is NOT a requirement- your attendance is more important.

We have a large number of layette requests for this month- special thanks to everyone who has worked so hard making it possible for us to deliver the requested layettes. thanks to the group that spent a morning prepackaging all the different items so the layette assembly will go quickly after the business meeting. Also thanks to the ones who had a sewing day to make the 50 small Christmas stockings requested by one on the hospitals.  These functions are a lot of work combined with a lot of fun. Anyone available and/or willing to participate, speak up. It is a great way to get to know other volunteers better.

The representatives from the Dekalb Sheriff's Posse met with us at the Gwinnett Workshop in November to bring us another donation- $2000. We were told their group plans to "help us on a continuing basis". Great!

Martha Vinot reports that the Marietta December meeting will be at her home on December 18 from 11am to 2pm.  They will share a cookie swap and tea. Ladies, please remember to bring your finished item to turn in.
