Tiny Stitches- July Newsletter 2003
Here we go into the last half of 2003!
(Wasn't it New Year's last weekend?)
Tiny Stitches lost a valued and dedicated
member with the death of Sharon Drozek after an extended bout with cancer.
One of the suggested memorials is donations to Tiny Stitches. As of this
time, Tiny Stitches has received donations totaling almost $750. Sharon's
devotion to Tiny Stitches continues to help us. She will be greatly missed.
Thanks to Lila Hunter and Maria Figueroa for
volunteering for the nominating committee. Anyone else interested in
helping them contact Lila at
bloomingdogs@yahoo.com.
Thanks to Debbie Vickers, Lila Hunter, Melanie
Bellavich and Maria Figueroa for working the Tiny Stitches table at Joann's
Duluth last Saturday during their Celebrate America with Crafts Day.
Thanks to some of our volunteers who have
donated money to enable us to rent an additional small warehouse to store
the bins of finished items. The rental of this space is $35 per month.
Anyone who wishes to "adopt" the small warehouse for any month or part of a
month, please contact Gloria.
Send your supply requests to be delivered
at the business meeting to Gloria at
gloriabantekas@aol.com
or 678-482-8360 by THURSDAY,July 3. Supply requests for the Gwinnett Medical
Center workday, please send to Cathy at
geeftemple@charter.net
or 770-945-6818 by TUESDAY, July 16
The stock on hand in the warehouse is in
fairly good supply for the layettes needed this month. There is a need for
small burial garments to fit under 5 pound babies, both boy and girl. Anyone
interested in making these contact Joyce Woodward at
bobba@prodigy.net or
770-554-6694.
Those of you making quilts, if you serge the
edge, please cover the serging with binding. Burp cloths and lap pads can be
finished with a carefully serged edge. Be sure to have batting in these and
top stitch to hold the batting in place
Another e-mail will be sent to each of you
to update our volunteer list information. I will need to print out each
reply so it will take less paper if it is not attached to this newsletter.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

DEAR VOLUNTEER
Where would we be without volunteers
Who quickly respond when a need appears
This is the way you have chosen to serve
What appreciation yoe deserve!
There are very many things to do
And YOUR time can only be given by YOU!
So without complaint and without demands
You offer the labor of your hands.
The world is a better place to live
When people like you are so willing to give
With this attitude of love and care
You will find a welcome anywhere.
You may not always know when someone
Is especially blessed by a kindness you've
done;
As you freely share your hours and days,
May you also be blessed in many ways.
