Tiny Stitches Bulletin- January 2003
Here are the final numbers for 2002. You have all done such a wonderful job. The numbers say it all.
Bags Items
Our need, as always, in the colder months, is for sleepers and sleep sacks. Our January workday will be for making sleepers and helping those that are "afraid" of them to overcome their fear. This is for sewing machines as well as sergers. We will have enough people there to help on a one on one basis. Other items can also be made that day.
To the knitters and crocheters we need white sweaters, genderless, if this is possible. We still need all the other wonderful things you make but we seem to be having trouble getting enough matching sets for hats, sweaters and booties. We have hats and booties but no matching sweaters therefore the request for white sweaters. Some one ask if they should stop doing sweaters when the warm weather comes and our answer to that was no. We never have to many sweaters. So if you enjoy doing yarn work all year long we will certainly continue to take then all year long.
Thanks to all of you that made the holiday gatherings for each group. It was nice to see so many of you at the ones I got to attend. Social time is something I don't think we have enough of. I am continual amazed by the amount of information that we share with each other with just casual, social conversation.
We are very excited to announce the new location for our Duluth Monday business meetings. The Atlanta Sewing Center in Duluth is moving to a larger space. They will be located in the same parking lot but will now be over by Joann's. They are tripling their space and this will allow for more space for us also. Please note that there has been a change in the schedule for that meeting in February only. The date is changing from February 3rd, to February 10th.
Here are the
meeting/workday dates I have for 2003:
Duluth Alpharetta will meet the second Saturday of the month 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Marietta will meet the third Saturday of the month 10:00 a.m.- 12 noon. Snellville will meet the third Thursday of each month. (Snellville Saturday workdays are temporarily suspended. Please join the Duluth workdays in the Education Center at Gwinnett Medical Center,9:30 a.m. to 3:00p.m..) We also have a group that meets at Applewood. This is for residents of this location only and not open to the public. Supplies should be requested one week prior to your meeting/workshop date to insure the items you need will be available to you. Request are made to gloriabantekas@aol.com. Gloria says you have until Thursday (1/2) this month to get in your request for the Duluth business meeting this month.
You are making a difference in the lives of Georgia's babies!
